Hemingway table...

Hemingway table...

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

I need a long vacation. With the sea near, kind women voice talking near and no place to be.

"
                          Hemingway table
I found Hemingway table in Paris, in the Spring of 1978. I found Hemingway table in Monterey, California in 1992. I searched Central and South America  for three years, seeking the places Hemingway loved. I dreamed of visiting Cuba. I want to stand where he wrote his great novels.
I know I cannot be like Hemingway. He was a wild and strong man who survived two world wars, boxed, lived and loved. Only one Hemingway, my friend.
In the Winter of my life. I became like Salinger. I like quiet, privacy and honest/kind people. I want faceless books and easy life.
I drank a lot of the whiskey in Monterey. I wrote story of the sea, stories of the beautiful women I have known and the endless war. I became the dark poet of the bay.
I wonder did Hemingway regret anything? I wonder what was his last thoughts, his last wishes?
In Paris in 1978, I wish I was with him. I wished I was with him in 1921, when the great writers of our world gathered. The city of lights was overtook by the men and women who love to create words, paintings and song. I would love to listen to him and the great writers discuss war, women and the drink.
Maybe one day at the Purgatory Inn. I will ask Ernest. Did he miss anything?

I only wish, my friend, that one day I could be something like Hemingway, with great words of wisdom and someone would remember me after I'm gone. I know there's only one Hemingway. I've always loved a good book, and words are my dear friends. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë has been one of my all time favorite book. A dark, grim story - yes, but filled with so strong feelings that I couldn't pass up. Or perhaps those endless moorlands?

We all have our heros... One day, I hope to walk where Frost walked and see the New England if his childhood. Robert was a foster father of sorts to me. His words were a light in the darkest times if my teenage years. Wonderful words written in tribute to a powerful man if letters.

Hello dear Pat. Happy New Year. I believe I would enjoy the Purgatory Inn.
Monterey is perfect for writers in need of a muse. One can't help but be so close to the sea and be inspired. Hemingway was indeed a talented writer and visionary in craft. Many of the great old artists give us the road towards our creativity. They leave it up to ok us to walk its path and extend it for future artists. It would be a joy to sit in a chair once used by a masterful writer and an even greater one to pay it forward. Excellent write CP.

faceless books and easy life.
You have brought up two of my favorites, especially Hemingway...

in Catcher in the Rye...best line to me...and one that I relate to..."my for chrissakes sister"---
how apt a description....but then, The hills always did look like White Elephants.
I am not sure Ernest did miss anything....never missed anything...he showed us so much with so few words.
