We regret what we didn't say, what we didn't do. If something is important. Do it today, say the words today.
Words, never spoken...
Last two years been very hard. 2020 and 2021, I lost many to cancer and to sickness. Today I miss their voices and I yearn to talk to them again. I miss their smiles and their laughter. And I pray. They had gathered together in a better place.
Today I paint with my words. Kind faces and beautiful places, I loved and I miss.
I set-up my tee-pee with names of the people who left my world. I add the white sage and I light the sage. I hope the smoke reaches my kindest friends and my family.
Today I asked myself. Did I thank them enough for their friendship and love given to me? The words not spoken haunt me more than the words spoken. I should of told them. Thank you for your love, thank you for your friendship. I miss you so much and you taught me how to live.
I have become the senior person in my family. I must become like my father Jack. Listen, wise and a open door for the family. I must become like my grandmother Beulah. Only kind words spoken and help when needed.
Now I am the old man and the five grandchildren are dancing at my feet. I must listen to them, be wise and a open door for the people who need me.
Dear Grandmother taught me what love was. Love mean you love your family in the good or the bad days. The blessing of love. A forever gift we can give freely and love will expand and multiply.
If the smoke of sage can rise, so can our words. Whisper, shout, sing, or rage...I believe they will know. I am not much of a 'woo-woo' type person, but I believe people leave their energy when they leave this world. Something that was created by God and does not decay. My belief is rooted more in science and faith than metaphysics, but I find it comforting to think that something of those I loved remains around me. I hope you find a comfort in something you believe.

There is more than science. I believe. Most people blind themselves to the beauty and wonder of life.. read moreThere is more than science. I believe. Most people blind themselves to the beauty and wonder of life, of nature. When we see a baby born. A miracle. The taste of a sweet apple. Paradise. A kiss given freely to me. Utopia. The more science we learn. The less human we become. Once I danced with the California coyotes. They knew I saw them as free and beautiful animals. I write in my dreams. People and stories appear. Secrets forgotten. We use a very part of our brain. If we could see more. This world would become more special. Burning the sage. Just a reminder. We have not forgotten them and we hope. They are watching us. Thank you dear Zoe for reading and the comment.
I love the message in this write! We miss the people gone from our lives, and we must remember what they added to our lives and share it with others to make them proud!

Thank you, my dear friend. We learn in old age. We must find time for the family.

Missing loved one is painful, but one tribute can be through music and sing.
Words are always meaningful and soothing, even those departed can’t hear them, you’ve done a good deed. .
Best, B.

Thank you dear Betty. We must remember our mentors. They taught us, how to live...
John, I am sure those friends and family cherished the relationship they had with you. Light that sage and know they were blessed to have you in their lives just as you were blessed to have them. What a heartfelt write this is. Touching. Lydi**
Thank you Coyote.
For these words of remembrance.
In Christmas 2009 ( was it?) (any wat) we received several cards with notes/letters @This will be my/our last card.
We had / or were ready to send ours - I included or sent a separate letter thanking them for their friendship including our address; in the hope that their relatives could send a reply > Did they ever receive them?
I just hope that they did.

Moving forward in our lives we must, I hope, remember to be present at times when it is important to say thank you, I appreciate you, I love you...
With age we get better at this..
Well, I hope so..

I agree dear Lisa. What we do today, matters. Thank you for reading and the comment.
If more if us lived by the teachings of the Elders there would be no need of unspoken words. Our lives would reflect our gratitude and say for us everything that needs saying on a daily basis. But too often we are neglectful of even the simplest courtesies.
Wise words and sad. Needful words in a society gone mad. Words well spoken.
