Summer of 42...

I told the prettiest gal in Ann Arbor. You are my Summer blessing and my sweetest dreams. She asked me. Can we watch the Summer of 42 and Love story tonight. We will eat popcorn, drink some sweet strawberry wine and you will hold be close. I want us to create a love story for the ages.

I wrote to paper on a Summer day.

"Dear Julie..

You and I, waterfall seekers, cloud dancers and you weave to me, the songs of love to me,

so bright and so sweet.

Dearest Julie, let's dance near the river and I want to kiss your sweet lips, I want to tell the warm sun.

You are my Summer of 42. A kind dream that had befell my heart."

Julie, she danced with the wild flowers and I could hear her laughter. I followed her to the river. She took my hands and she kissed each one. She whispered. I love the carousel of love dear Johnnie. Will one day. You will forget my face, will you forget my voice?

I told her. Your beautiful face is tattoos upon my heart. I would yearn for your sweet voice till my days are done. You taught me love could be sweet, love could be kind. When you leave me. I will tell the Summer sun everyday. Please sun-kiss her dear face and please whisper to her. My love for her, is not forgotten.

She laughed and she kissed me. She whispered. A promise is a promise Johnnie. You must keep the promises to the sun. The beautiful sun shall we remember. We knew a safe place for love to be.

a real coming of age film....while I myself was coming of age, but never quite got there.
