Whiskey drinking woman... Some mini-poetry.
1-  Dear Peggy called me from Cocoa Beach.
I knew she was crying and she asked me.
Please come to me, I am so damn lonely.
I told her, dear Peggy, in two day sweeties.
I will be with you.
2-  Peggy took me to her home.
She told me, only a short walk to the sea.
In the night, we can hear the ocean sing.
I brought her close and I kissed her whiskey tasting lips.
I told her, do you love me or do you love the whiskey?
3- We laid naked in the large king size bed.
A large bottle of Jack Daniel near with two large glasses near and she whispered.
Please Johnnie, let's make love on the patio.
I want the rain to touch my skin and your skin and my skin.
Becoming one a hellish dance for the night dear lover.
4- I told her, pretty Peggy.
You and I been running to and from for 10 years.
I remember when you were young and you were so damn brave.
I loved you from day one after you allowed me into your life.
Now we are old souls with no more tears to cry.
Do you want me to stay? Or do you love the whiskey more than me?

Hello Coyote, I was just reading about Peggy. I feel like I have been in her shoes. You described your times together as brave, luscious, and often. Enjoying each and every time spent together. I myself was once a health freak, I spent days at the gym and days running. Alternating days on each one. Then I found out my mother had cancer and I gave up all the exercising and picked up the Jack Daniels bottle. I was never a drinking woman but I hit it hard and heavy. I had a boyfriend that I had been intimate with for years, needless to say he fell by the wayside. It was strange that when my mother did die, I had no more use for the Jack Daniels and I just quit as fast as I got started.

If the call came when she wasn't lonely and hadn't been drinking your note might read differently. Makes one feel sorry for Ms. Peggy; a lonely, dependent soul. The sex can be lovely with two consenting adults without inhibitions. After 10 years, has the relationship grown? Is there still a relationship? Interesting Mr. C.

You’re welcome!
The author's note tells it all. The addict loves the addiction more than anything. A hard row to hoe for those who care for them.

A very good question. I hope she said you. Not a whiskey drinker myself; don't mind a little bourbon (Maker's Mark) but whiskey is just too strong tasting for my tongue and Jack Daniels. I don't know. That said with lots of ice and smattering of orange juice, it all changes.

Loved this write, Coyote:)
