Why do we write, whey do you paint?

Why do we write, whey do you paint?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

April is poetry month. This is new poem number thirty.

"

Why do we write? Why do we paint? Why do we create?

The poet don’t cry. He write the misery of life to paper. He write about days of joy.

He wrote about memories and kisses. Some say. Poets love words more than love.

I adore the artist. With tender fingers, they create vision of places, visions of faces and

visions of twisted thoughts. They say. Painters are madmen, madwomen. They can

see too much in everything.

Us who love to write. We love to fall into the folly of life. Poets love to paint words to

create tears, to create laughter and remind us. Live more, dance more and drink more.

I believe we need the writers, we need the poets and we need the artist. They create

left-over memories. We need to remember.

My favorite are the war poets, writers who write of the ugliness of war. We need these

memories. Maybe we won’t repeat them?

very relaxed delivery, not forced, not labored, just stated cleanly - In a book that impressed me greatly the author said we are not only creations but creators thus we cannot help but do what we do. I know there is an up side and also downsides to our creativity. If we will allow, artists of all mediums serve to remind us of who and what we are and what we have done and can do both sides of the coin, good and ill. - nicely done - carl

Start to finish. John, you have shown the gifts the poet adds to the beauty of the Arts by adding a clear and honest under-title to an action, dream, piece of music or painting. At best a poem helps readers to understand a little more its original thought: turns this or that way in exampling touches the eyes might not notice and, in reading aloud adds a little garnish to what might have been a nibble rather than a feast. Many thanks for sharing.. this is such a finely laid poem.

Thank you Soren. I appreciate your kind and generous words.
What a powerful poem, loved this. Its true that we all write and pour our feelings into our words and even our artwork showcase hurt and pain differently.
To me the world is a better place with poets and artists, brings out the beauty and its flaws too.
Thanks for sharing.

DearJohn
We paint and we write to express our emotions in different mediums
therefore a variety of moods…..so, instead of crying we might write our tears on paper….we create, which without us, would be a very boring world indeed…. i like your words John…..
Warmly, B🌷🌷🌷
