Sins of our father..

Sins of our father..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

I am so tire of war. I am so tire of hateful leaders. Where are the peacemakers..

"

Sins of our father..

Daddy swims in sin, my poor father. Could not win.

I see my father face in the mirror now and I have learned his disappointment.

I told my children, I told my grandchildren.

The sin of your father isn’t your sin to copy.

I was a soldier, my father was a soldier and my

grandfather was a soldier and we found war and drink. I tell my grandchildren.

Seek beautiful places, know love and pray.

War doesn’t touch your soul.

War teaches you nothing and no-one win in war.

I have became old and my face is filled with sad memories.

I write and I scream for peace. Today the dove of peace

is frighten.

I don’t want my children to pay for my sins.

I want them to die with me and my family, all

people. To know one day of peace.

Johnnie

Yes, dear John...war is a terrible thing and you should know more about it than most of us.... it is a good idea to tell your children and grandchildren about your family's experience in war, yet also tell them that war is not good.... and we all want peace in the world.... we all want that for our children and grandchildren as well...."war doesn't touch your soul".....Nice write John

Something quiet but urgent stirred up in me with this piece. The exhaustion you speak of, the longing for peace--not just for yourself but for the generations to come--it is deeply felt! That line "the sin of your father isn't your sin to copy" is a blessing wrapped in truth. It's a powerful call to break cycles with love and courage.
The reflection of your own father's face in your own, and the desire to spare your children from repeating inherited pain--THAT resonates. Thank you for voicing what so many carry silently. May your prayer for peace echo and reach every heart that's still learning what war costs.

With respect,

Gregoria

Exactly! What has been in the family line doesn't need to go on and repeat forever... The cycle must be broken and the one who breaks such cycles shows their love for the next generation. This poem is deep and emotional. It speaks honestly about pain, regret, and the deep wish for a better future.
This is a truly powerful and moving poem.
Thank you for sharing.

Heavy stuff here, C. How many generations must know war before we hate it sufficiently to end it? Sometimes I wonder if it's in our DNA because of the regularity in which we engage in it.

“War doesn’t touch your soul. War teaches you nothing.” That line hits like truth passed down through generations. Thank you, for this. Peace feels closer when words like these are spoken.

Thank you dear Neha for the comment. I pray for peace. Enough had died for the profit of rich men.
Dear Coyote,

Wars are escalating everywhere and new wars are in the offing. In this era of conflicts, its noble to want to break the trend, choose the path of peace. I read and appreciate the sorrow and compassion in your words. I hope the peacemakers take over soon. This is a very touching poem.

Fabulous Work Coyote. A true Soldier's perspective. Maybe those that glorify and want War should listen more to the real Soldiers' stories. Exceptional ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
