Say my name. Make me believe.

Say my name. Make me believe.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

The music makes me write this poem. Drinking and writing again.

"
Say my name. Make me believe.
I am dreaming of you again dear Maria.
Prettiest eyes and longest legs in my world are stealing my dreams.
I called you at midnight and I told you.
Dearest Maria. I remember you. Do you remember us?
I am so damn lonely tonight, and I am praying for your embrace and kisses.
Dear Maria told me. Dark poet, you are missing me, and I am feeling lonely tonight.
Dear Johnnie, you are my last friend, my last dear lover.
I have told you. I am heartless and cold.
You and I, just the last people left,
seeking peace in the turmoil of the dance of the flesh.
We love pleasure, we need to feel ecstasy, and we seek the longest dance in the midnight hours.
We play the devil and the angel in the same embrace.
Johnnie whispered to the phone. I am lonely in Ann Arbor.
I will come to you, or you can come to me.
Beautiful Maria told me; I have the juice and drink in my home.
The house is clean, and I am bare-a*s and waiting for you.
I drove to her, and she answered the door in tee-sheet and with smile.
I told her, she was my last dream, she was my last wish. Dear Maria.
You have stolen my soul; you have stolen my heart.
Maria smiled and she told me. Never love a woman who is never content.
Some of us, always need more.
I told her. Love be sweet, love be damned. Sometimes we accept what we are given.
Please Maria, let's talk little and make this night last forever.
Sometime all we have is pleasure, sometimes all we have is need.
Sometimes kisses and embrace is enough.

A night of pure ecstasy..that's what you desire dear John,( in your piece) you seem to pick these woman who are difficult to latch on to... though I must say, I love your approach, always very sensual and a bit old-fashioned, like in the 50's; your words are always pleading, somewhat like you have had a couple of those Texas whiskeys.... the loneliness you convey between you and your hopeful lover is so true and clear....your stories (scenes) are a perfect read always....

Thank you, dear Betty. I have always sought the wild ones. They loved freedom over love.

Ah, but that we could all be in contact with the Marias of our lives. Of course, in my case, my old woman probably wouldn't understand.

It has been two long since I've had the privilege of someone in my life who would "play the devil and the angel in the same embrace.". Nicely done. ~Jim

They rarely call to us my friend. Thank you, for reading and the comment.
Two very lonely people sharing special time together. Making the most of those restricted moments.

let’s talk little and make this night last forever

And all those years later, you remember her.

Honest and beautiful Coyote. I hope you are well dear poet and still have time for your grandchildren, even though you have returned to work. Take good care of yourself.

Coyote, this is truly beautiful. I feel the quiet pulse between the lines..the way words are almost unnecessary because the night and bodies speak for themselves. They talk little, but the intimacy fills every space, every pause. I love how the poem lingers on the simplicity of presence, the way kisses, embraces, and shared warmth can be enough, even when love is messy, hungry, and restless. “Love be sweet, love be damned” is so romantic. it’s almost a sigh, a confession, and it makes the whole night feel eternal.

Coyote, this feels like one of those nights you never quite forget --the kind that burns a little wisdom into you. That image of Maria in her tee and that line, “never love a woman who is never content,” hit hard. It’s like she already knew she was a storm, and he walked in anyway. There’s beauty in that kind of chaos though -- the honesty of two lonely people just trying to feel something real, even for a night. Sometimes that’s all we get, and that’s enough.

Thank you Jansy. Sometimes we must loan and borrow kisses.
There is love when the question is "Do you remember Us?" Rather than, "Do you remember me?"
