She ambushed my heart.A Poem by Coyote Poetry(For April, the poetry month. Number five.)She ambushed my heart. The poet near the sea sings a lullaby. Tra la, la, la. Was the prettiest gal in Michigan and I loved her so. Jenny, Jenny. I remember you. Tra la, la. Once sweet girl ambushed my heart. Once sweet and sensual Jenny told me, “Come live with me and be my love, And we will all the pleasure prove.” Christopher Marlowe She besieged my thoughts and corrupted my heart. I believed she was my only love and savior. Tra, la, la. Tra, la, la. She stole my heart and I gain an appetite for her kisses and embrace. Her charm and sovereign eyes made me blind with want and need Tra, la, la. Tra, la, la. Real life lullabies can be true and I know now, love demand payment. Dearest Jenny, dear and wonderful Michigan gal. I did not know. Promises were made to be broken. The chronicle of a forever love is like the willow tree. Willing to flex and bend. Never forgotten.
