War will find you.

War will find you.

(For April, the poetry month. Number six.)

Lead with concern, kindness and listen.

1- I was a soldier for 15 years. California taught me peace and Texas taught me madness.

Europe taught me. People can be kind and war taught me. We are led by angry and greedy men.

Does war teach us anything? I believe today the people of the USA are shellshocked.

USA guns and bombs killing and we do not know why we are fighting.

And the people in the USA are blind to the murder of children.

How many mass killings in the USA will be enough for us in the USA.

2- You cannot run away from yourself. Everything we do, will return to us.

Karma will catch us and we will swim in the good or bad deeds done.

3- We need weightless dreams and we need days where we are free to roam and think.

I need a good book, Lake St. Clair near and the loud voices of my grandchildren in my home.

Today I need my garden, a warm day and the sun on my face.

4- I have told many. If you do not stop war. War will find you. War will come to your doorstep.

Today our children are dying for oil and hate. The children pay for our sins.

John

Thank you Jacob. I worry for our world.
The world in conflict and it’s getting worse and the innocent suffer. Like you Coyote, I want a retirement with my grandchildren around. It’s a frightening time.

I am eighty years old and I have never seen a time in this country like the current one. Our president badly needs medication and therapy, but I will settle for his premature retirement.

I always think about Ben Franklin who, when asked what kind of government the framers decided on, he said, A republic, if you can keep it. Character matters in leaders. We forgot that. Hopefully, not forever.

I agree Winston. I worry for my USA. Thank you for reading and the comment.
Indeed, we are shellshocked and it will likely only get worse. War sucks. Good writing. ~Jim
