Eternal Drifting

Peace once harmoniously whole
Now countless unwholey pieces
Caught in cosmic undertow
Lost in fractured dream of time

When will wakefulness return
When will children understand
Why we are driven to create
Why we are destined to destroy

Outside time all is now
Outside space all is here
Hand in hand we turn to dust
And soar within the light
