A Poem by Cathexis

Bound in this world
of societal dictates
Cast adrift
into a sea of loneliness

Driven to fit in
but always a step out of pace
This ocean of madness
I'm without a place

Granted a fortuitous life,
forced to bear many great burdens.
A tenacious grip that holds
and chastised thoughts,
that won't allow me to give up.

Shoulders have broadened
and a back, never broken.
A constant will of defiance,
with a high price payed
to fears never spoken
