Not scared

Me & my long distance bf are together since nov. 2023, when things got hard we decided to take a break, i suffered with self harm. When we figured it out a little after i wrote this poem for him.

I’m not afraid when the storm comes near,
I’m not afraid if it catches me here.
I’m not afraid if I can't write a line,
And I’m not afraid if inspiration declines.

I’m not afraid if the wave’s too high,
And I’m not afraid if the way's shut tight.
I’m not afraid if I fail to stand tall,
I’m not afraid, even if I fall apart.

I’m not afraid, for you hold me close,
And I know you’re here, through highs and lows.
I’m not afraid, for your embrace is warm,
I promise with me, you’ll find no harm.

I’m not afraid as I once used to be,
No longer awake through the night’s decree.
All pain has vanished from my sight,
With you, there’s nothing left to fright.
