Weapon

Weapon

A Poem by Cedés G

Every word you speak aloud,
Is this what decides if I’m allowed
To live or die another day?
Or is life not the one that strikes our way?

A dragonfly in the wind, paint on the wall,
But no more blood on your hands should fall,
Nor on my face, it ends right here.
We dance like swans on waters clear,

And in this moment, love burns bright,
Its fire touches every bite.
Why are you still here? Why play the part?
Pointless hope keeps chasing my heart.

Do you lie to me? Then lie, I beg.
I'm dying, yet for you I live instead.
Take me away, let’s run, let’s flee!
The two of us against the world, wild and free.

You are a weapon, my own to wield,
But are you in my hand… or my battlefield?
Decide, decide what you'll do with us.
In this world, there's no virtue or trust.

You and I, against the world we stand.
If you're a weapon, then miss my hand.
