LoveA Poem by Cedés G
He is love to me, no doubt,
The one I raise my glass about. He was there when no one stayed, Yet not everyone sees what he gave. I was so lost, so far gone, Beaten down, barely holding on. I gave up, it was the end, But then his voice began to mend. And when the stars began to meet, An angel’s song rose soft and sweet. Is love meant to burn and ache this way? No, I haven’t had enough, I say. His gaze is empty, yet so full, And half of him won’t ever do. He stands before me, raw and bright, But like graffiti, clean in spite. Not like others, not the same, His heart is small and closed to flame. It’s not ideal, it isn’t sound, But how can I resist when his chaos is profound? I’m the water, and he’s the flame, Yet he won’t ever push me away. He burns me if I don’t take care, But I don’t mind, even death, I’d bear. He is love to me, it's true, And I could never have enough of you. I love him now, I’ll love him then, I’ll live for him, until my very last breath. © 2025 Cedés G |
