Jump to the Beat!

Jump to the Beat!

A Stage Play by Celia Stokes
"

Here’s a short student-friendly play about Geometry Dash that could be acted out in a classroom or small performance setting.

"

Characters:

  • Alex " The player, determined but easily frustrated.

  • Dashy " The in-game cube, full of energy and attitude.

  • Spike " The mischievous obstacle, always in the way.

  • Beat " The DJ, controls the music and rhythm of the game.

  • Narrator " Explains the action to the audience.

Scene 1 " “Press Start”

(Lights up. A giant cardboard “screen” frames Alex sitting with a game controller. Beat taps a rhythm in the background.)

Narrator:
In a world of shapes and music, one player dares to jump… to the beat.

Alex: (smiling)
Alright, Geometry Dash, you won’t beat me this time!

Dashy: (bouncing in)
Hey, player! Let’s do this"just keep up with the music, okay?

Alex:
I’ve got this. I’ve been practicing all week.

Beat: (points dramatically)
Three… two… one… DROP!

(Music kicks in. Alex mimes pressing a button. Dashy jumps across stage.)

Spike: (jumps in front of Dashy)
Boo! Too slow!

(Dashy “crashes” dramatically to the floor.)

Alex:
WHAT?! That was barely there!

Dashy: (getting up)
Rule number one"spikes don’t wait for you.

Scene 2 " “The Retry Cycle”

Narrator:
But in Geometry Dash, there’s always… another try.

Beat:
From the top!

(Alex presses a button. Dashy jumps again, narrowly avoiding Spike this time.)

Spike: (to audience, whispering)
Oh, they dodged me… but here comes my cousin!

(Another student dressed as “Mini Spike” pops up from behind a box. Dashy crashes again.)

Alex:
Are you kidding me?!

Dashy:
Hey, you’re getting further though. That’s progress!

Scene 3 " “Victory”

Narrator:
Attempt number… well, let’s not count.

Beat:
Let’s make this one perfect.

(Music starts again. Dashy jumps, flips, turns into a “ship” with arm motions, flies across stage, dodges Spike, and lands at the “goal.”)

Dashy: (cheering)
We did it!

Alex: (pumping fist)
Yes! Finally!

Spike: (mock hurt)
Aw, you didn’t hit me even once.

Beat: (to audience)
That’s Geometry Dash"jump, crash, repeat… and celebrate every victory!

All:
Jump to the beat!

(Lights down.)
