FireworksA Poem by CerJust a nothing little written by a nothing person, it's nothing but everything at the same time T-TI liked you before I even knew you. I didn’t try, you didn’t ask, but somehow I orbited around. You weren’t on the task list, nowhere even near it, but you slowly made your way in, one ping at a time.
Now, I wait to hear that annoying buzz one more time whenever I sit around. It makes me jump, a different kind of way, the kind that makes you pause and think about your day. Specifically, that one moment when you said something not so okay. Something that makes my breath hitch, surroundings blur, when the only thing audible is the lub-dub of my heart, as if it might just burst.
I know it’s not just me. I am in a sunflower field, looking at you shine, but I don’t mind. Because meeting you was like finding that one song that felt like mine. Like that one place that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Unbeknownst to you, you leave a mark.
You have a way of giving the spotlight as you speak. It feels like I’ve been chosen, even if it’s just for a moment. But when your name lights up my screen, it’s like fireworks in my mind, the kind that reminds me what I’d been missing all this while.
Still, I’ll keep this tucked away forever, if possible. Like the fireworks, I can only watch from afar. I’ll enjoy the light and the sight, because for now, that’s what feels right. ~♡
