Your VoiceA Poem by CerFeelings are human and there is no proper role designated to anyone, so live, laugh, cry, dress how you want. Life is too short to live trying to fit into standards that can never define you <3It’s sad how society always expects people to look and dress a certain way. According to our role, we must carry ourselves, they say. If you’re a student? Then act like one. Kids who study don’t dress that way. Trying to speak your mind is “talking back,” they say. You’re a guy? Wipe those tears, there’s no room for emotions here. You’re a woman? working or not. Be home before eight o’clock. Do the dishes, do the laundry, care for the husband and the babies while your head’s bursting, trying to finish all the copies. You’re a husband? Then you’d better earn. Got stress? Bury it in your head. No one needs to see your burns. Neither a guy nor a girl? So you’re confused, they say. Pick a side, can’t be hard, just look down there, what’s it say? But who made these rules? Who decided what one can wear, say or choose? Who are they to decide, who we should be before we even figure it out for ourselves? Why is our identity their discomfort to fix? Are we just characters stuck in some script? Be the light. Lose the sight. No one should tell you what feels right. Live for you. Be a kite with no strings to stop your flight. Don’t let the voices bind you; these dogs can bark, but they’ll never bite. So eat that cake, don’t worry about the weight. Run the mornings and own your days. This is your life, so live it short but live it right. ~♡ © 2025 CerAuthor's Note
