Ahmara (to my daughter)

This was written when she was just an infant.

the bright beauty of a flower
is the bright beauty of my baby
she lays in wait for Mommy's touch
she cuddles up to me as if we have always been
a part of each other, no seperate being
she is my heart personified
though she is not me
she is better than me
a tiny alien being dependent on love
and i have enough to give
a lot of my love belongs to her
all of my heart belongs to her
she is my heart, she is my head
the motivation which drives me
the tool of my strength
coming out into the light with one large cry
a very important breath I will never forget
the breath I carry with me always
and those big bright eyes
opening like a blooming flower
