Heartache's Affliction

I'm through writing of heartbreak,
it may be the only thing I know,
but to release your presence in my mind
my true creativity would show.

You have a way of entering my thoughts
whenever I pick up my pen.
If I carved your named until I dropped,
I doubt I could forget, even then.

To get the pain out of my system
is what any doctor would prescribe,
but how can I remove you from this system
when you are forever on my mind.

If only for a weekend, amnesia set,
and I forgot the thoughts you took.
My creativity would be delighted to find
my hand penning entire poems,
maybe even books.
