A Poem by Chamorrita Poetess
"

The intrinsic value of the sea as partially experienced by my friend Chandni and me.

"

You can be at peace sinking into the

forgiveness of cool blues--
So much blue that it isn’t blue anymore,
but that impossible notion is absolution.

Cradled in dewy bliss,

where sounds amplified merge
beneath the waves--
a resonating song.
Your curls just slowly spray,
splay at the slightest contact,
the water’s silken embrace
caressing you into the deep.

The tide-fountain is a quivering
mirror to the grinning crescent
as she glides through the dusky
sky-sea.

You and I both understand that
waters are merciful,
more accepting in their serenity
than the wretched corporeal world.

Their harsh lines and hardened thoughts
blend into the rippling might,
their atrocities bent, dissolving into
liquid nothingness.

Heated Words curtly cut, sliced square melt
supple within each tear: the salty ocean language-
we break the heavy, clasping chains of ruby treachery
leaving the glinting rock to deceive and die.

Author's Note

Chamorrita Poetess
If this is too confessional to understand, I'll try to revise. This is a second revision. The latter half of the poem discusses abandoning land for sea, because through the ocean is redemption from corporeal strictures. I hope I described that bit sufficiently.
