Love's Literal Etymology

Love's Literal Etymology

A Poem by Chamorrita Poetess
"

This is an extended metaphor of love...and the definition of love as created by and for two people. Kind of.

"

Print in lip-locks,
the type indecipherable to all
except us,

with Indo-European roots,
to the old language every
nation shares;

this timeless reading where every sound
is released from strictures of
human fallibility;

for who can find fault
in nature's secret conversation?
My body

whispers to yours of pleasures
lost in pages, bound in the silk of
my skin.

My tongue writes upon your left breast,
the parchment of your heart's pulse...
scriptures of our desire.
