Painting pictures in my mind

Expression of happiness.

Mesmerizing pictures in my mind,

Peaceful seas and blue skies aligned,

Who knows what I will find,

Happiness has been redefined.

Enchanting silence in all its calm,

Enveloping me like a soothing balm,

With convivial thoughts I drift to sleep,

This bliss is for me to keep,

On a bed of tranquility where

The ocean of contentment runs deep.

 

Summer breezes and starry skies,

Capturing my contented sighs,

Magical sunsets in twilight hues,

This is the happy life we choose.

Flowers and fruit in full bloom,

Fill the air with sweet perfume.

The poem says it all. I'm experimenting with a new style here and I might build up on this poem later.

Charms is my "real" nickname, Zainul. Everyone calls me that. :) My real name is Charmaine and it's quite common so people recognize Charms more easily.

Zainul, I like honesty. It's all good. I am like that too and it gets me into trouble a little more than not. Hehe! I am a full time writer. I just got a publishing deal for my collection of children's books. That site you speak of is a wordpress site. It's my blog, I've been on there a couple of years I think. I did the background and setting up. I will be getting a proper website done as soon as my first book comes out. The scenery in the background is from my place... the view we get during the monsoons. It's very serene. The only sounds you hear then are birds and rain.

By the by,may I know what's your academic background ?

Academically I am poles apart from what I do. I did my B.A. in Philosophy (my dream was Psychology) and Writing has always been a hobby "write" up to now. I started writing short poems and stories when I was 6. I published my first poem and story at 13 and never once did I plan on getting into writing full time... but my life has taken a full circle and here I am "write" where I began. Hehe! Pun intended by the way. I can't say I regret anything. I enjoy writing. I love setting my imagination loose and seeing where it takes me and how it inspires me. I love my work.

I am confident that you are also very comfortable with your native language.
Do you speak Bangla?
I feel you are doing well with writing and hope you will do great yet better in future.

I can understand a little Bangla (if you mean Bengali) and I am not too fluent with my regional language (Konkani) nor my mother tongue (Hindi), I can't form a single grammatically correct sentence in Hindi. I am more fluent in French than I am with my own languages. My family was raised in British India and everyone spoke English.
