The Beauty of LifeA Poem by Cherriefirst joy of morning
First to arise, preparing the day. Pony tails and yoga guide my way. Coffee by starlight it’s not yet 6AM and my mind is reeling as a scene is set. The endless sky feature’s the last glimpse of black, while a hallowed moon gleams just over my head. Silent morning sings its own secrete tune and a pathway to the stars makes me reluctant to move. An owl calls me out, I’m too close to his tree. I remain silent and in my chair, nuzzle-back. The last bit of snow rests on the northeast slope and the chill in the air makes me rise-up. I return to my door as the horizon gives light and thank God above for the beauty of life.
