Light a PathA Poem by Cherrieseeing your children in a dark placeWalking straight and standing tall is who I am, since I was small. Take the lead, when none is found and soldiering true with all my might. Coupling love to keep fear from flight. Leaving my steps for all to see Hoping my babes would follow me. Strength I thought is all I need and a Glass house for my progeny to see. See, then do, and then become. But nay, my steps could not be found. Simple trues of a life tested is not the path of the least resistant. So with a timid hand and a plate of cookies Momma will kiss the hurt away, while you are in this darkened state. I will not hold your age against you. But light a path I hope will lead you. Once illuminated I trust to find, well planted feet And a steadfast mind. © 2018 CherrieReviews
