Jack be nimble, flick, flick, flick

Sing song glow from the fire pit

Crackling flames how they dance

With that boy Jack on its back

Quick to run with the flame

So when things catch fire

You know who to blame.

Very nice Cherrie. I believe writing for kids is a greater challenge than we might think. The great rhymes are deceptively simple but the kids know what they like. Our own grandson is 20 months now and i must try my hand at it. You've created a great children's rhyme here.

This is the best, most balanced nursery rhyme I've read here at the cafe since Momzilla has been pushing her current contest! I aspire to produce a nursery rhyme this mild & subtle but then my wild hair kicks in & I go off the track! To me, this is a solid poem, not just a nursery rhyme mimic! Love the fire imagery!
