Old Forgotten MemoriesA Poem by CherrieA sunrise surpriseOn my way to work this morning I chased a flaming sunrise. The sharp turns of Hwy 5 intertwined between shaded ravines, and an eastern horizon flushed with color. Two slivers of vermillion electric, and dense flowed suspended up there in the red sea of dawn. Finally, my own roadway veered south, and I lost my bird’s eye view as I closed the gap to town. Somewhere along the way an old forgotten memory stabbed me in the back. My pleasant morning vanished as I fought back hot tears and chocked down an old pain. Memories are a powerful thing. They fuel us, shape us, and at times deflate us. My only advice is hang-on to them all the good ones add color to life and those tough times remind us to cherish what we have.
