A strip of white straddles the flag.

Offering peace to the country at hand.

So, whether it's orange or the wearing of the green.

Remember the heartbeat of you and your brother, are the same.

I married into the blue section of Scottish life not really knowing owt about the true hatred. I've seen the Orange marches in Ayrshire and trouble ssurrounding these, I've been to the Old firm derby and witnessed the pure hatred between the two clubs.
I think you are correct Ken when you say death is the only thing that will unify both sides/ factions/ religions

I was thinking more that we will only stop hating the rest of the human race when we discover something else to hate. like martians when we start colonies there.. Wont see it in my lifetime.

Yep. Shouldn't stop us trying. Although now I live in Scotland and consider myself really Scottish I can see clearly why they dislaike the English. I'm aware that I should'nt but lately. I wonder when name calling became the subsitute for an arguement? I do love a good PROPER arguement. It was social media I think and the bloody media itself. Who say you have got to hate someone that is not like you. I ask why?

Religious bigotry, hatred is passed from generation to generation, tis the same in Scotland. It will always be this way I think as folk ain't for changing.

I searched which countries have those colors in their flags. Four of them. But I suspect you are writing Irish? That last line packs a punch. Reminded me of the film 'Crying Game'. I may be way off though. Got me thinking like a good poem should.
