vast canvas of endless night

reaching back into that time

to the moment stars were born

taking on their brilliant form

heavenly orbs lite the way

yielding with the break of day

salted beams that make an eye

keep me gazing to the sky

I write about the cicadas and fireflies sometimes. Such a great sound. Plus all the other Fairweather critters that scurry, scamper or fly.
For awhile (when we still lived in the city)we had a camper and we would make a bonfire and sip some Bourbon and just watch the night in all its glory.

The two most lonesome sounds in the night are an owl and coyotes. But both are also the most Evocative sounds in the darkness. Years ago, just up the street from where I live, there was a field where fireflies swarmed by the hundreds. Now it boasts a self storage set up. The fireflies are only a memory.

I like it. I like it a lot! Can't help but think you are writing about the new telescope? I noticed you always spell the word light lite. I wonder if that's intentional on your part or maybe your neck of the woods that's how it's spelled. Even if this isn't about the telescope it speaks of time travel that's not fiction. Love it!!

I do like using old English words sometimes. Kind of imagined ✨️ a old piolt being lit.
I'm glad you enjoyed a little star gazing with me. We use to have a telescope 🔭 and enjoyed it for a long spell. Until we gave it to a boy we went to church with.
