I really considered my word selection. I didn't want to use words people didn't know, just beautiful words we seldom use. I didn't want it sounding fragmented (sometimes this style can). But a fluid stream of thought.
I may use that mindset for the next one.

I love the sounds in this poem, though I've never seen loons, I imagine them to have a song of their own, that delights.... and I love the sound of the lulling water... a white noise soothing for slumber. You've captured a lovely moment.Well done.

I enjoyed the poem. Loons are noisy critters with a voice somewhere between a hyena laughing and a child's recorder blowing notes out of tune. Nightingales and whippoorwills are more soothing to me. But, to each his/her own. I suppose the stars are far enough away not to mind the cacophony at all.
