Often it does feel that way, like a life un-animated until that which makes it smile returns...or something like that. Trying to sound profound is not one of my better qualities. Brevity at its finest Cherrie. I liked this, it says a lot.

I think so often reviewers overthink poetry. I've been in many classes where the instructor wants us to explain the authors state of mind, and the truth is most of the time the creator of the poem can't do that.
A poem should make us think or feel (on a good day both). I like your simple reaction. To feelings I dance around because I'm not ready to take them head on. That is where poetries power comes from.
