A Picture From Home

A Picture From Home

A Story by Cherrie
"

This Sunday afternoon I am speaking at our Homeless Shelter, and this is that:)

"

People / soldiers hold onto pictures just like they hold onto letters from home. They tell of a simple day of a silly dog afraid of the sprinkler, of kids riding bikes, and his wife telling how she burnt the cookies yelling at the neighbor’s cat. This mundane letter sounds like nothing to you but to him it is a picture of home.

This is what I’d like to give you today a picture from home.

The one thing that God the Father expresses to us all is how he loves us. Some will choose not to hear. We have all been placed into this world a free agent, to pick and choose our own outcome. We are bound for Hell, but as we surrender to the cross and make Christ our Lord our true purpose is born.

You and I have a lot in common maybe not the world in common but Heaven.

Last night I noticed the beauty of the sunset as Matt and I worked some fence line. However before there was a Sun to set and rise, or an ocean to hold her bounty or the rivers flowed. Before God spoke the first “let there be” He dreamed of you.

He dreamed of the perfect shade of hue your eyes would bare; of how your voice would sound. God’s mind considered the stature of your frame and the stride of your step. You were no accident. This earth may have been taken back but Heavens doors have been waiting for a lifetime for you to arrive. God has been waiting and hoping you will hear the call of creation, that we all were created for and each one of us has such a purpose.

If you ask a mom her secret ingredient she most likely will say love. I would have to agree, when I cook I think of and pray for and imagine my family and the next time you hear someone say something was made with love I want you to picture the Creator of the Universe siting at His drafting table calling you into existence.

His love for you is perfect it is everlasting, and it came at a price, paid in full by his own son. Now if we would walk in that truth, we could stand in the gap for children, family friends cities and nations. We didn’t just happen; not to be born, nor to be here. We were made to walk in God’s own love and to lead others in it. This is the picture, I hope you tuck away to keep.

So the next time you feel beat-down, left-out, and without hope reach into your pocket and pull-out your picture of God the Father calling you into existence.

Fresh and alluring...this manifested deep within my soul and lit my muse on fire but no ordinary fire. This one burns with heart and soul.
