A Poem by Alex

About a struggle that many people (including myself at times) have gone through.

Open the bottle
Pour it in
Empty the glass
Then go again
I close my eyes
My words are slurred
Everything goes dark
As the world gets blurred
The pain is leaving
I’m falling deeper now
But it’s not gone yet
So the more I down
Around and around
We go some more
Just me and Jack
And an open door
I stumble towards the light
But he pulls me back
“Only one more drink”
As I give in to slack
One more, two more
Three more, Twelve
Just another average night
With a ride back from hell.
