An oath beneath the stars abruptly broken
Beneath the moonlight they witnessed
Skin in skin
Breath in breath
Ache for ache for emptiness

The sting was easy
Like taking back an old lover who once broke your heart

There is always something in the way
Of what she’ll never bring herself to say
What will never pass her lips
A breath
A kiss
A wish
Of hope and longing
To be free
