Elusive Redemption

Elusive Redemption

A Poem by Cheshire Prince

I sit here with my life on pause

Thinking of the pain I have caused

Wondering if I will ever be forgiven

Praying that we can be friends again.

Fell to past feelings that have become forbidden

Tell me why did our story have to end

I wonder how long before I become reclusive

Keeping my heart to myself and not giving it away

How long you ask? I can not say

But I feel as if I have lost a war

For my chest is nothing but a hollow core

I fear that i may have done all I can

No longer can I return to that wonderland

I fall to despair and shake the devil's hand

My heart stops pumping, my blood turns to sand

And I am sad to say that her life has become exclusive

For now I find, that like the wind, redemption is elusive.
