May Mrs. McGraw Rest in PeaceA Poem by Chrissie MuldoonI got a writing prompt: 'The corpse you saw in the undertaker's window' and this is what got written. But Mrs. McGraw let out a guffaw and caught a fly that was a buzzin'. And Mrs. McGraw unhinged her jaw and ceased that creature from livin'. Then Mrs. McGraw, who knew that I saw, pointed at me and started laughin'. 'In life, it is law,' she began to caw, 'that for all, death is a-comin'!' © 2025 Chrissie MuldoonReviews
