Night MysteryA Poem by Christina May ShanabergNIGHT MYSTERY
The glowing orange jewel of an evening sun, Embedded into the throat of a clear blue horizon; Fiery rays of yellow spotlighting blackening clumps of trees, As they sway in timeto a whistling breeze; The soaring shadows of hunting evening fowl, Each echoing into the falling night, its shreiking call; Cool damp dewy blades of glistening grasses, While into the sky, a pure white moon rises, Clearly shining, as a massive sapphire over the earth And smiling at us with heavenly mirth; Occasionally, the chilling splash of a blurt of wind Or the gummy threads of a web just spinned Make the world such a mysterious place, Like closing the eyes on a sunny face. © 2010 Christina May ShanabergFeatured Review
