A Scheduling ErrorA Story by Christina May ShanabergWritten "Tuesday," July 28, 1987!A SCHEDULING ERROR
As a Field Tax Auditor for the State of Ohio, I, constantly, received requests to reschedule audits. On Wednesday, July 22, I received a call from an accountant's secretary, indicating their client's appointment, at his company, for Friday, July 24, should be changed to the same time tomorrow, at my office.
A short while later, I received a call from the accountant, confirming that he wanted an appointment, in my office, for the same time Friday, not tomorrow, as his secretary indicated.
Unfortunately, the client was calling for the accountant, while the accountant was talking to me. The secretary told the client an appointment had been scheduled, in my office, at the same time, tomorrow.
When the accountant attempted to return the client's call, he found the line was busy. The client was changing his appointment, for the same time tomorrow, to the same time Friday, with one of his customers.
Alas, the accountant telephoned to reschedule the rescheduled appointment, from the same time Friday to the same time tomorrow, at my office, and he said, "You see, the main problem is my secretary thinks tomorrow is Friday!" © 2010 Christina May ShanabergFeatured Review
