Accross Two BoundariesA Poem by Light_PenA nostalgic poem, An African poem on prejudice and the unprecedented happenings in developing nation..
"What would you say if you were ask?
How can you revive a nation that's been left without a heart?
Would you blame it on the colonial masters or the Past leaders?
The slavemasters turned Our forefathers into Animals.../
Divide and rule was their modus Operandi...
Worked great for them, and they deemed it dandy..
Diverse peoples, with separate boundaries...
Divided we fell, unity may have kept us standing...
Our past is Blurry, our future blurrier...
Hear now the wailings of a wretched town crier..
The diverse cultures, a lot to beautify her..
The amalgamation of poles did little to unify her...
We claim to seek solutions dieing in our ablutions...
Our everyday routine of bribery and corruption...
Oh what a nation,Lost in its pursuit for visible transformation....
Once vision 2020, Now 2030? what an aberration...
Funds meant for subvention exploited to serve their personal ambitions...
Oh what political subterfuge, An apparition of a nation..
The Paths Once beaten now left for abandon...
A cluster of tribes with so little in common...
Deaths Unrecorded sacrifices unwritten...
The Labours of our heroes past, too soon to be forgotten...
I weep for a bleeding nation, let the locusts continue eating..
Till their stomachs get too full, and they die of over-feeding''
