all the roads are made of snow

all the roads are made of snow

A Poem by Circe

the snow took hold of me
like a lofty cotton blanket
it's just that all
the lights that live inside
a city could not touch my cavernous
heart.
i'm walking home in shanghai
and my grandfather would have
stayed up late
for me.

I really like the sense of quiet longing this piece evokes. Great imagery too. Well done.

This seems a bit melancholy. The glimmering lights of the city can't fill the void left by the absence of your grandfather.
You have a unique style that is pleasant to read.

Your grandfather wouldn't have known just how far your journey might be. The length of an ocean can lie under those freezing clouds for some of us.

Very nice piece. the journey ahead, arduous, the knowledge that someone is waiting for you, paints a very descriptive picture of you walk. Thank you for sharing.
