Love wants your days and nights

Love wants your thoughts, and reasons

Love wants you to be happy

Because when you’re happy

I’m happy.

 

Your courage

Your trust

Your passion

Your tendencies

Your patience 

Your hard work

Your playful manner

 

In return

 

It will give you a mirror

It will give you a reason

It will give you a friend

 

Love leaves you

With Memories fogged by time

And a stranger with a familiar face

Love leaves you wanting.

I love this, especially "I will give you a mirror". The life cycle of "love" certainly has it's highs and lows, it's joys and it's heartaches. When I read the line "a stranger with a familiar face" I had an epiphany - the stranger is me, as love changes everything, and I don't recognise me any more. Excellent poem ceej. Justine
