Welcome

This poem is based off the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall. All credit to the creators, I only wrote this poem and did not write the world it is set in.

The tiny pinpricks of light
Against the silence of the night

The way a human breath falls
Is the way the breeze
Soars through the trees

A small dart of life
An insignificant light
Against the Unknown

Dark claws reach toward the sky,
Their branches swaying as though
Their death is nigh.

A lantern of some sort,
Lighting a way into the fort
Of the Beast

Welcome to the Unknown.

Author's Note

This was the very first poem I ever wrote that was actually decent, and what do you think of it? It's one of the very few poems that I wrote that has rhyming words in it, and I think it sort of wrapped up nicely.
