Look Who Pranked The Farm Dog! The Adventures Of Jake, Willard and Winston

A Story by Cookie
"

Our trio gets revenge in the mean farm dog that pranked them yesterday.

"
Jake, Willard, and Winston were excited to visit the farm with their people. The moment the sun peeked through the window, the three pups were already awake and planning the day.
Willard, the smallest and bounciest of the bunch, hopped in circles. He always acted like someone had filled his water bowl with rocket fuel.
“Let’s go look around! There has GOT to be something fun to do here!” he yapped over and over.
Jake stretched and said, “I’m sure there is, but relax. And we need to stay away from the farm dog. I don’t think he liked us much yesterday.”
Winston yawned. “I agree. That prank he and the pig pulled on us wasn’t very nice.”
He meant when the farm dog tricked them into walking into the bull’s corral… and the bull wasn’t very welcoming.
“Let’s eat first,” Jake said.
“Yap! I can’t wait!” Willard squeaked.
After breakfast, the trio trotted into the backyard where the animals were. Behind the barn, they found a goat leaning against a tree with a straw in his mouth.
“Hey!” the goat said, surprising them. “You boys should stay away from that farm dog. He’s not very kind.”
Jake blinked. “You can talk dog?”
“Of course,” the goat said. “All of us can. We just pretend we can’t around him. He likes to play mean tricks and record them for the internet.”
“That’s awful,” Winston said.
“We won’t tell anyone you can talk dog,” Willard promised. The others nodded.
“I saw the prank he pulled on you yesterday,” the goat added. “Sorry, but… it was kind of funny. Still, I don’t know why the pig hangs around him.”
Jake, Willard, and Winston thanked the goat and continued exploring.
At the edge of the pasture, they saw the biggest lake they had ever seen.
(It was actually just a small fish pond, but they were city dogs. They didn’t know any better.)
Jake and Willard ran straight into the water, splashing around happily. Winston napped in the shade under an apple tree.
After a while, Winston said, “We should head back before our people get worried.”
The three walked along the dirt road"until they saw a cloud of dust.
Suddenly, a dog catcher’s van came over the hill.
“Oh no!” Jake gasped. “He found us!”
The dogs darted through the bushes and into the pasture.
(Truthfully, the dog catcher was just driving home. He had no idea the dogs were even there.)
“What are we going to do now?” Willard asked.
“We’ll stay off the road,” Winston said. “He won’t see us.”
“I bet the farm dog had something to do with this!” Jake growled. “That’s it. No more Mr. Nice Dog. He needs to learn a lesson.”
The trio found the goat again.
“Mr. Goat!” Jake whispered loudly.
“Shh!” the goat said. “I’m not supposed to understand dog, remember?”
“Sorry!” Jake said, then explained everything.
“We want to teach the farm dog a lesson,” Winston said. “Will you help us?”
“For sure!” the goat said.
Word spread fast. Soon, all the animals wanted to help.
“What’s the plan?” the goat asked.
“We’re… still figuring that out,” Winston admitted. “We’re city dogs. We’re not used to farm stuff.”
A voice sounded from the henhouse. “I know just what to do.”
It was Big Red, the rooster who chased Willard yesterday.
“Sorry about that,” Big Red said. “I thought you were like the farm dog. He’s always complaining because he doesn’t want to get his paws dirty.”
Big Red flapped his wings. “Here’s the plan: We fill a big tub with manure and set it on the barn balcony. I’ll lure the farm dog over with a note about a sneaky fox. When he walks under the balcony"you dump it!”
Jake’s tail wagged wildly. “That’s the best idea ever!”
Everyone cheered. Now it was time to get to work.
Jake, Willard, and Winston dragged a large wash tub up the barn stairs. All the animals helped fill it.
Big Red delivered the note to the farm dog without speaking a word. It read:
“Fox chasing one of my hens again. Think he’s getting in by the barn.”
The farm dog trotted toward the barn, nose to the ground.
Everyone waited silently.
As soon as he walked under the balcony"
SPLASH!
The tub tipped and dumped a huge pile of sloppy manure right on the farm dog’s head.
The whole barnyard burst into laughter. Even the family outside filmed it on their phones.
“That’s for tricking us and calling the dog catcher!” Willard said.
“What? I didn’t call the dog catcher,” the farm dog said. “He lives on the next farm!”
“Oh… oops,” Willard said. “But you still shouldn’t prank everybody. You hurt everyone’s feelings.”
For the first time, the farm dog looked truly sorry.
“I didn’t know I was hurting anyone,” he said quietly. “I’m sorry. Will you forgive me?”
To his surprise, all the animals replied at the same time, in perfect dog:
“We forgive you!”
From that day on, the farm dog stopped pulling mean tricks.
He and the other animals finally became friends.
Jake, Willard, and Winston headed back to the farmhouse feeling proud… and very hungry.
They couldn’t wait to see what adventure came next.
The End
