Talc Mines

“I feel things when I look at you”

Good.

I hope those things boulder down

From an unreachable height

Fill an expansive landscape

Give you a whole world to explore

Levels to climb, depths to plunge,

And dirt that's fertile too

An entire ecosystem untouched

Flowers unknown to botany

New colours that fizz and collect

On rims of volcanoes and mines

Like lipstick on a wine glass

Levels - depth -

These are scary things

But you should feel them

A bounty for the sunset was set

We set a match and cigarette

To watch dilution and dissolution,

To watch something fizzle out

To know what not to do.

     The torchbearer on the elliptical,

He feeds the flame with his breath

      He finds a way
