Hail

Hail

A Poem by CH Archive
"

A poem truly about love.

"

Hail.

You sink into eternity

Telling me which way to turn.

I know where you slipped away,

Beneath that autumn night's sky

Singing the poems I wrote you.

It was a haunting night that I recall,

I caught you lingering in your night gown,

Sobbing in your sleep.

The visions still seep in to this day,

I laid you down and tried to take the pain away,

You screamed at me to leave,

But you knew I had to stay.

All that memory was has now become a portrait,

Hanging on a dark wall in the back of my mind.

So many unspoken words are strung up,

I wish I could tell you how I really feel.

I wish I wasn't too afraid.

That bittersweet night was your last,

But it was the first time I felt what was right.

Ever since then I was searching,

For a sign of something,

Maybe Its all just some kind of illusion.

One that nobody really figures out.

But the one thing I do know

Is that I dreamt so long about you,

On this deep blue bridge,

So far away..
