Hurt

A Poem by CH Archive
"

I gave this one my all guys, the follow up to "Hail". A poem about love.

"

Hurt.

I've been lingering here for what seems like forever.

And my presence won't give up the ghost.

Even though I know that you might not hear me,

I still shout out your name.

You once said things won't ever be the same.

Captivating all this melancholy with one haunting glare,

The sanity that had taken me is slowly seeping away.

And all I can do is stare.

For some reason I always dream about you,

And you've taken a piece of me every time I submerge.

Changing my complexion with your ever changing light,

Taking a place in this transcendence.

Inside of this vestige I will awaken from my slumber,

And my wounds will still call for you,

Even though I don't know you in this reality.

Im willing to go through with this,

All i need is your precious solitude

Bashful in beauty and in purity.

For you I will fall apart and start over.

Suicidal tendencies only metaphorically,

But the darkness is always taken literately.

I don't know if I will dream of you tonight,

I don't even know if I will dream at all.

But if we did have to meet once again

On the coldness of that deep blue stone bridge,

I will tell you everything that I wish I could now.

And hereafter or ever after,

I will pat myself on the back,

Even though it still hurts.

A feeling of helplessness pervades this, and yet you manage to pull out hope at the end of the tale. It seems to ramble a little in the middle so you might go back and try and instill a bit more direction to the piece, but it is a solid poem as is. I truly enjoyed it.

Very nice poem! You really outdid yourself on this one! The last two lines are very well thought out. I loved this poem. Keep it up!
