My Life Is A Marketing Ploy

I've been standing on top of the billboards 

Using my megaphone to preach to all the kids.

I asked them where do we all go from here?

Cus they know we're sinking. 

I told them my girlfriend liked looking at commercials

They all knew what I was talking about

I told them we could burn down the CIA.

They liked my philosophy 

We will be right back right after the commercial break

Oh you know we will be back after the break

We've been standing around on top of buildings

Waiting for something to happen

I told them the corporations got us in a choke hold

They we're willing to jump off the edge

We all went out and bought a TV

Picked up our couches and placed them on the streets

While the cars were driving by

We were staring at static

We will be right back after the commercial break

Oh you know we will be back after the break

  We all got our degrees in marketing

Very lovely. The only line that didn't seem to make since to me: "They we're willing to jump off the edge." Is it supposed to say then? I don't know, maybe it's just me. Anyway, superb lyrics that the adolescent population can relate to. Thanks for sharing!

It would make good song lyrics there is a good rhythm, a bit of middle eight and nice fade away bit at the end.

I think it nicely makes a connection between the crowd agreeing with everything you are saying as well as the crowd all enjoying the adverts. It makes a good link between anti-captilist marketing is not so different to corporate marketing. (Though I often find the corporate marketing to be more interesting, better made and with at least an attempt at humour, anti-capitilists are such dour types).

I think this piece could be quite popular, if market right :)
