Suddenly

And then, suddenly, there was ultramarine blue sky;
Oh mine, my own, my friend, my love...
Leaves of lemon yellow sundrops; upon the water they drift

And a boat glides over water; tossing in tremulous waves; sails unfurled;
A puff of cloud; a fleck of froth caught in the gust; 

Blood red is the dream;
The dew dances; the moth flings itself into the burn;
Dragonflies skim the skin of the pond;

And then, suddenly; the language of the eyes; liquid;
And then, suddenly; the language of kites; fluttering;

Violent green splashes; purple wishes; winds lace waves on the grass; suddenly, the language of fingertips on lips;
Grasshoppers gasping; butterflies bursting; soap bubbles erupting; tears stinging my eyes,

Crimson poison poinsettias; acid apple sap tickling my tongue;
And then, suddenly...

A single blossom drops....
