Oh WillowA Poem by Cass Ashe
Oh sad willow,
Why do you weep? Your branches hang so low. Now you fear to wake, It's so much weight on your torso. Oh desolate willow, Why are you empty? Inside you is so hollow. The creaking must ache As you sway to and fro. Oh broken willow, Why do you hurt? You hold up all those around you so. Your roots will break, And you'll fall so slow. It hurts you willow. Holding up an entire forest. Winter came so long ago, And you hold up the dead for whose sake? We all just want to know; Oh willow, Why won't you let go?
