What do I do with you?
You're like Vegemite
Your thought is better
than your taste.
You're like tampons
I use you but I want to
change you often.
You're like Vicodin
I need you sometimes
but I wish I didn't
You're like toothpaste
Your sweetness is unreal
So what do I do with you?
I love your contrasting thoughts here, Tania. Being in a state of confusion about what to do about someone in your vicinity. They have their pros and cons and your choice to keep them close or move them along is shining through in your words. Hopefully you make the right choice.
Should I be smiling and wondering about the likenesses you made! Guess you laughed your thoughts onto the page and finished like your avatar with a winner's smiling thumbs up!
I see it's been 3 months since this poem was posted, so maybe you have come to terms with your confusion already, but I still wish you clarity and harmony with the individual referred to in your intelligently metaphorical piece. As Ms. Inessa has said below, hopefully you make the right choice with your prudence.
Take care and regards.
The bewilderment is so much real. I sense the relationship going stale. Perfectly captured the emotions of such confusion, dear friend. Amazing comparisons (tampons-my personal favorite). Great metaphors.
This guy doesn't appear to rate very highly with you--clearly, being portrayed as one
who leaves no lasting impression.
Still, you haven't entirely rejected him. Otherwise, you wouldn't still be asking what's
to be done with him.
Intriguing bit of work, Tania.
