He wanted to be able to write of the darker things that danced inside his soul, I wanted to write about the love and light in mine, to have the freedom to express ourselves without fear, prejudice, and judgement
to speak of love or darkness.
we handed each other our wings and cried for the shadow they cast, and gasped when it covered the land in darkness and then lamented how much I missed the sunlight in the valley of the Lillis.
But there are two sides to every moon, and a dark base and a white peak to every mountain that must be climbed.
...and I will always smile to think of its measure and the pleasure it gave me to call him my friend.
...somethings are never lost, only hiding amongst the clouds
This reads like mist but with substantial thoughts and phrasing. It seems to comb through words and letters to find an inner meaning. This beautiful write about a friend.

Thank you Ken , I very much appreciate your kind review.
WOW! You have painted the light and dark so beautifully here... your canvas has layers of emotional longing, and sacred love... I say this with the utmost fascination for what has cost you both...
I like this truthful ode to your friend, thou some metaphysics might label that friend an energy vampire, I am on the dark side of this, and I have the bite marks to prove it..great piece

I'm glad you liked it WM Thanks so much for stopping by :)
they sometimes say in order to be free you must let go of everything...I don't think that is true...I think you just have to come to terms with everything...even loss (in whatever way it presents itself). I am loving your soft spoken nature of this peace...makes me full with serenity:)
~ I am so familiar with those for I am living it, often times freedom cost very high...
~ there is always two sides of a coin, the balance of all things...
~ to appreciate the brightness of the light, one must know the dark
~ to speak for both means you'll know how to balance things in your life...
i found this very lovely, the opposites of light and dark, love and hate, i think as writers we do tend to veer in one direction or another. i loved the opening to this and the second stanza ' we handed each other our wings and cried for the shadow they cast,' is truly brilliant. one of my favourites by you, i just loved the flow and the layering. fantastic.

Right above the Goddess Odyne's heart, Odyne being the mythological Goddess of pain, is a tatoo
of a human heart to signify her link to human agony.
I love poetry. If I never told you this, let me tell you today. I love poetry. It is so different to
come to all these substantial resolutions and all the while express weariness and sadness
or sometimes a cry of encouragement.
But almost always, good endings.
nicely written,

this a beautiful piece...opposites attract, we can't have light without darkness, joy without pain..
did you mean "to think of its measure"?
and i love the stanza..."somethings are never lost, only hiding"
is it because they want to? or have to?
yes, freedom does come with cost...are we willing to pay it?
insightful write.

I once told someone that I would be anything they needed me to be, and I am, but I also have to be true to me at the same time, I'm still that person, I'm just over here being that person. Though, at first, it hurt too much to be reasonable.
